Watercourse Sampling On & Near Your Development Sites

Pollution and other damage to watercourses on and near your construction sites is a high risk issue. It is also an area of increasing focus for local and national regulators. This can sometimes form part of your planning conditions, especially where very sensitive watercourses or other habitats are present nearby such as Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).

Taking samples of nearby watercourses before works begin is an extremely good way of benchmarking the water quality (i.e. in the case of future complaints / incidents). Regular sampling during construction can also help you to spot any issues, and is a very clear way of demonstrating your diligence to regulators and enforcement bodies.
